Comment: It would be nice if UK would take contest more seriously as we would probably win more often. As to Political voting if the song is good enough it will get through those barriers it should be on the song NOT POLTICAL VIEWS OF Countries, Best UK winners Brotherhood Of Man.and Katrina and The Waves fab. Johnny Logan done fantastic for Ireland I always cheer for them too. I hope contest goes back to Birmingham in future great in my home city in 1998 I remember the song diva winning

Comment: Have been fan of Eurovision for fifty years and even have left social evenmts such as weddings early to get home in time for the contest; we arrange our holidays around it too. Is there any way I can get a compilation CD of all winners and UK entries - i had mine stolen when my bag was taken from a train and not been able to get one since.UK should take the contest more seriously.

Comment: All this talk of political voting - don't forget the UK came 3rd in 2002. Reason? They had a good song. They haven't since. Other countries are coming up with some really good songs and are taking it seriously - 2006 had a lot of good songs for instance. Eurovision is as good now as it ever was. By the way Julia, there is a site you can download Eurovision tracks from - every song ever entered for 10c each. It's called 'mp3 fiesta'. I've just made 4 compilations of my favourite songs from "I Belong" through to the present day. Enjoy.

Comment: I agree with everyone who says that the UK should take Eurovision more seriously. I'd like to see song writers like Martyn Baylay and Kimberley Rew entering songs for the UK again. Our last good song and performer was Jessica with Come Back, i wish she would!

Comment: Loving your site! I'd not seen the pre 00's uk contests,so I'm seeing these scoreboards for the first time. I'd tracked down some of the songs but had never seen the single sleeves before,so it's nice to see pics here,of Alberta,Layla etc. I'd love to see SONIA have another go for the Uk !

Comment: Instead of a semi-final involving the 'relegated' countries etc wouldn't it better now to divide into 4 regional semi-finals of between 10 - 12 countries. The top three would then proceed to the final. This would reduce the 'weighting' of any one area within the contest zone and allow good songs from other countries to have a chance of getting into the final. Particularly for those countries who have not reached the final for many years. It would also mean removing our guaranteed spot.

Comment: Hi there, Does anyone have by any chance have any old UK national finals pre 1984, on DVD? In that case, maybe we could swap? I have all ESCs 1956-2008 on DVD, as well as several national finals, anniversary programmes, documentaries, and interviews, as well as a collection of non-stop all UK entries 1957-2008, also on DVD.

Comment: I submitted a couple of songs during the 1990's for "A song for Europe" along with about 75. I remember getting a nice reply back from one Jonathan King. What I want to know is how is it done these days? I still have ideas.
